Woo-hoo! Anna’s highly anticipated new project “Scott Pilgrim vs the World” finally has an official release date: August 13, 2010, according to MTV.com. Are you excited?! Anna also recently talked to MTV about the film, which she is lucky enough to have already seen:
Anna participated in a junket day for “Up in the Air”, and Collider.com posted a preview of their interview, which focuses on her other upcoming film, “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”:
Yesterday I participated in a roundtable interview with Anna Kendrick for her new movie Up in the Air. While I’ll have a full transcript soon, I wanted to share what she said about Edgar Wright’s (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) Scott Pilgrim vs. The World today. If you didn’t know, she plays Michael Cera’s sister in the movie.
While we didn’t spend that much time talking about the film, she revealed she’s seen some of the movie and says, “You should start emotionally preparing yourself now. It’s so good, people are not going to know what hit them. I have a small role in so I’m allowed to gush. It’s so cool. I’ve never seen anything like it. There’s an energy and a style that I’ve just never seen before and I think it’s going to make the fastest movie you’ve seen look like a Merchant Ivory film. There, I said it.”

A year ago I spoke with Dev Patel right after “Slumdog Millionaire” had debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival. The Brit’s first feature film, like many, Patel still couldn’t grasp the amazing road the eventual Best Picture-winning movie was going to take or the part he would play in it. At the time, having seen the journey of recent word-of-mouth contenders such as “Little Miss Sunshine” and “Juno,” I told him to savor as much of it as he could and enjoy the wild ride. The same scenario is about to engulf up and coming actress Anna Kendrick.
After completing filming on “Up in the Air” and “New Moon”, Anna is now on the set of “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”, stepping into the shoes of Stacey Pilgrim, sister to Michael Cera’s title character. Here she is striking a pose with co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
