Anna sat down with “50/50″ co-stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen for Moviefone’s “Unscripted” and the first preview clip has been posted. Don’t know about you, but I love this interview already. The full interview will be up on Wednesday so be sure to check back!
Anna is now in New York doing press for “50/50″! Here she is on “Fox and Friends” and I’ve got the video and some large quality stills of her on the show. Haven’t been able to watch the video yet (can’t seem to get it to play, anyone else have this issue?) but caps will come as soon as I get it to work!
Great new in-depth interview with the San Francisco Chronicle.
Anna Kendrick’s latest career highlight ‘50/50′
At age 9, Anna Kendrick’s favorite movie was “Life With Mikey,” the Michael J. Fox/Nathan Lane comedy about a theatrical agent whose clients are all children. She would watch it over and over and over again. Then one day while she was watching it, she started to cry.
“I realized that wasn’t going to be my life,” she says during a chat at the Toronto International Film Festival, where her latest movie, “50/50,” made its premiere.
“That sounds really silly, because I was only 9 years old, but that was the first time it occurred to me that ‘when I grow up’ – I live in Maine – ‘I’m not going to be on Broadway. I’m not going to be in movies.’ ”
Three years later, at 12, she was a Tony nominee for best featured actress in a musical for her role as the precocious little sister in a revival of “High Society.”
Kendrick credits her entire career, in a way, to a cousin’s decision to get married on Long Island. Her mother used the trip to New York as an opportunity to take her little girl into Manhattan to meet an agent.
“I didn’t even want to go. I was scared,” she says. “I wanted to back out at the last minute, but I went in and I sang a stupid song and read a Smucker’s jelly commercial and they started sending me out to auditions. It was all kind of just lucky. Sometimes, no matter how hard you work, sometimes there are just bizarre things.
“I genuinely believe that if my cousin had not gotten married at that particular time – maybe it would have happened later, maybe not. I don’t know.”
Surprise! Anna stopped by not only “The 10 Show” but also “Good Day Philly” while promoting “50/50″ in Philadelphia today. Where will she turn up next? We shall see, but in the meantime, watch the new interviews below!
Anna and Joseph Gordon Levitt, Seth Rogen and Bryce Dallas Howard are all on “Ellen” today together! What a great surprise and what an amazing cast. Here’s a little 2-minute preview of the interview, be sure to tune in to the show this afternoon to see the whole thing!
