Images of Anna in Twilight:
Synopsis:
Bella Swan has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother re-marries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen, a boy unlike any she's ever met. Edward is a vampire, but he doesn't have fangs and his family is unique in that they choose not to drink human blood. Intelligent and witty, Edward sees straight into Bella's soul. Soon, they are swept up in a passionate, thrilling and unorthodox romance. To Edward, Bella is what he has waited 90 years for -- a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when a clan of new vampires -- James, Laurent and Victoria -- come to town and threaten to disrupt their way of life?
Anna's Role: Jessica Stanley
Bella's schoolmate who quickly befriends her when she spots Bella possibly getting friendly with Mike Newton, the object of Jessica's affection. Jessica is a chatterbox and loves to gossip and is a bit socially awkward.
Anna on the film:
"Well, I always feel like if you read the books a little while ago, maybe you wouldn't remember my character. Jessica is just, well, a friend of Bella's. But she is human; she is a chatterbox and really insecure, and she basically is jealous of all the attention that Bella gets. I think she likes Bella, but at the same time feels a little threatened. She wants to keep her as close as possible."

"I had no idea what I was getting myself into, to be honest. Before I had even read the script, I was telling a friend about it. A couple of his friends, who I didn't really know, overheard. They were big fans of the books! That was one of the first things that got me really excited about it, because they had read them, and they knew all about it. That was the first hint that this was as big as it is."

"Rob kept giving me this look that was his "charming" smile, but I thought it was his "I'm about to laugh" smile, which would make me laugh, but it actually ended up working because essentially it was uncomfortable laughter, and it made sense that I would be fighting these almost, like, church giggles."

Selct Critic Reviews:
"...the heroine's classmates are a nicely unkempt bunch, especially Anna Kendrick as OMG best-pal Jessica. (Some of us have been watching this actress steal scenes since 2003's "Camp.")"

-- Ty Burr | Boston Globe (Full Review)

"Combines the plot of HBO's True Blood with the intensity level of Saved by the Bell. "

-- Kyle Smith | New York Post (Full Review)

"Twilight, the first movie adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s series of best-selling teen novels, is going to be a big hit with young girls, and deservedly so -- the picture delivers."

-- David Denby | The New Yorker (Full Review)

"Catherine Hardwicke's choppy direction plays all this much too seriously. The film lacks the clarity and cleverness that might have ameliorated the campier moments."

-- Nancy Churnin| Dallas Morning News (Full Review)
